Conquest of Mars

The idea of someday inhabiting another planet such as Mars is fascinating. There are many areas to explore visually. What kind of cool technology will exist? What kind of strange topography will the Martian landscape reveal? There's just a lot of things to ponder and let your imagination run wild with. I guess, the only limiting factor might be with the choice of color. Mars seems to require a palette full of reds, yellows and oranges. If these are not the dominant colors, the viewer will no doubt have a hard time determining what planet is being explored. In any case, here's a short series of paintings depicting the human conquest of Mars.
